About The Position
The Resource Planning Advisor turns complex demand, staffing, and financial data into long-range forecasts and practical plans. The role partners with Finance, Operations, and Workforce Management to identify risks early, guide strategic choices, and build planning approaches that support customers and teams. The position is remote; candidates who live within 50 miles of Bloomfield, CT; Chattanooga, TN; Denver, CO; St. Louis, MO; or Scottsdale, AZ may be asked to work in person. The role designs and maintains forecasts and supply plans, develops statistically sound forecasting models, analyzes operational and financial data, and advises leaders on budget and capacity risks. It also leads cross-functional planning initiatives, improves planning processes, and shares external best practices. For work performed at home, the internet connection must be through cable broadband or fiber optic service with speeds of at least 10 Mbps download and 5 Mbps upload.
Requirements
- High school diploma or G.E.D.
- At least 5 years of experience in advanced data analysis, forecasting, capacity planning, business operations analysis, or a related area.
- Experience developing management processes and creating strategic and detailed operational plans.
- Experience with financial analytics, resource-planning tools, or Workforce Management software.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including lookup functions, pivot tables, and macros.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to translate data into a clear business story.
- Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills across service operations audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional planning work, influence decisions, and build effective partnerships in a matrix organization.
- Ability to manage priorities independently and deliver high-quality work by established deadlines.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, Analytics, or a related field; MBA preferred.
- Experience with statistical forecasting and time-series models, including ARIMA or SARIMA.
- Working knowledge of SQL or Hyperion and experience with R, Python, or Alteryx.
- Experience across multiple Workforce Management functions or roles.
Responsibilities
- Design and maintain long-range demand forecasts and supply plans to help leaders anticipate staffing needs, service impacts, and cost risks.
- Build statistically sound forecasting models and explain findings clearly to business partners and senior leaders.
- Analyze volume, productivity, staffing, cost, and business-change data to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities.
- Lead capacity-planning discussions, including hiring plans, inventory reviews, and short-term planning touchpoints.
- Partner with Finance, Operations, and Workforce Management teams to improve planning processes and support timely decisions.
- Advise leaders on budget and capacity risks, recommend options, and coordinate actions to close gaps.
- Use predictive analysis and clear storytelling to influence decisions and connect insights to business goals.
- Lead complex, cross-functional planning initiatives and deliver measurable process improvements.
- Research and share external best practices that strengthen forecasting, capacity planning, and workforce strategies.
