The Resource Nursing Assistant will assist the Registered Nurse (RN) with the daily care of patients. This includes tasks such as bathing, oral hygiene, feeding, assisting with activity orders, and ambulation. The role involves measuring and documenting vital signs, intake and output, and patient data, as well as accurately documenting in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR). The Nursing Assistant will also perform purposeful rounding, participate in patient admission, transfer, and discharge processes under RN supervision, and ensure patient call lights are within reach and answered promptly. Responsibilities extend to collecting specimens, maintaining nursing area stock, cleaning equipment, and performing patient positioning and transporting duties. Additionally, the role involves assisting with nutritional needs, maintaining skin integrity, providing special patient supplies, and potentially performing tasks like removing IVs, providing post-mortem care, and bladder scans under RN direction. Adherence to infection prevention policies, including hand hygiene and aseptic procedures, is crucial. The position requires the ability to provide age-appropriate care and demonstrate knowledge of growth and development principles.
