About The Position

The Allentown Works (AW) Resource Coordinator oversees the daily operations of the AW Resource Navigator team and manages the systems that connect residents with Allentown Works partner programs. This position ensures consistent, high-quality navigation, accurate data tracking, and close coordination among all partners. Allentown Works (AW) is a federally funded workforce initiative led by the Allentown Economic Development Corporation in collaboration with local partners. The program aims to get more than 650 residents within the City of Allentown employed by connecting them with training, childcare, transportation, and career pathways in high-demand industries like manufacturing and healthcare. Through partnerships and community-based navigation, Allentown Works supports residents’ access to opportunities that lead to family sustaining wages and long-term success.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, workforce development, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • 3–5 years of experience in case management, workforce development, or program coordination.
  • Strong leadership, administration and organizational skills.
  • Experience managing data systems or CRMs.
  • Strong communication skills across reporting, service delivery, and partner agencies.
  • Must be able to travel reliably throughout the Allentown area as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coach a team of Resource Navigators.
  • Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and professional development of AW Resource Navigator staff.
  • Understand and train Resource Navigators in Allentown Works eligibility criteria and the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act eligibility standards.
  • Manage the Allentown Works Resource Inventory and ensure it remains current.
  • Prepare reports and monitor metrics on participant outcomes and barriers utilizing the AW Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system
  • Coordinate with AEDC, employers, and training providers to strengthen collaboration to improve service delivery and process implementation for participant’s .
  • Ensure adequate service delivery across all Allentown Works priority neighborhoods.
  • Participate in AW Steering Committee meetings and community functions.
  • Work closely with the Workforce Board Lehigh Valley and the Allentown Economic Development Corporation to ensure project goals are on track.
