About The Position

The Resource Family Partner (RFP) assists relatives and Non Extended Related Family (NREF) Caregivers in the assessment process for Resource Family Approval. The RFP main responsibility is to be the lead in the approval process for each family assigned to them, with a caseload ranging from 15 – 20 families. In providing these services directly to the family, the RFP is frequently assessing, supporting, and engaging each family. The RFP develops and coordinates the plan to meet the approval requirements as outlined in the written directives based on their assessment of the needs and strengths of each family. The RFP implements this plan in collaboration with the County RFA worker, family, and other involved parties. The RFP is an independent employee who can multi-task. The RFP understands the impact of trauma and can provide empathetic and professional services to families. The RFP follows all Penny Lane Centers policies and procedures regarding the Heart Centered Culture, cultural sensitivity and cultural awareness. The RFP supports the agency mission and vision in their interaction with children, youth, families, and partner agencies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (BA) in psychology, social work, or related field preferred plus a year of full-time experience at an agency providing social services or similar program services to children or families.
  • Or a high school diploma and at least 32 units from an accredited University, College or Community College, with at least 16 units in Social Work, Social Sciences, Humanities, Public Administration or Public Health plus a year of full time experience at an agency providing social services or similar program services to children or families.
  • Bilingual Spanish preferred (verbal and written skillset).
  • Valid California driver’s license; current automobile insurance; have and maintain a clean driving record acceptable to the organization’s insurance company; have immediate access to his or her vehicle during work hours.

Responsibilities
