About The Position

This is a full-time position at 40 hours per week located at our Grayslake Outpatient Center and Freestanding ER supporting the CT and MRI department. This role may require rotating shifts to help provide staffing coverage as well as possible holiday coverage as needed. Ideal applicant will have prior experience in CT. The Resource Coordinator Diagnostic Imaging reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.

Requirements

2 to 3 years of undergraduate education or equivalent
ARRT
IEMA
BLS through American Heart Association
3 to 5 years of related work experience

ARRT registry in CT or MRI
prior experience in CT

Responsibilities

Assists with the selection of new team members.
Conducts orientation and training of new and existing staff.
Monitors the orientation of staff and identifies further instructional needs.
Assist with scheduling staff for adequate coverage to meet the needs of the department; maintains attendance records.
Prioritizes, assigns and reviews work; provides feedback to the manager regarding staff performance.
Assists the manager in establishing and evaluating performance expectations for staff.
Serves as a resource to staff as it relates to patient evaluation and quality of service performed in the Imaging modalities.
Ensures staffing levels which meet department guidelines; ensures optimal department coverage and minimal overtime.
Monitors utilization of supplies and equipment for optimal efficiency and cost containment; orders and maintains supplies used in the department.
Coordinates equipment maintenance and repairs; assists with recommendations regarding the acquisition of new equipment.
Supports quality assurance programs for the department.
Enforces policies and procedures; assists in updating and developing procedure manuals and protocols for CT, MRI and X-ray.
Coordinates patient flow through department; resolves scheduling issues.
Monitors and maintains the quality of films and services produced in CT, MRI and X-ray modalities.
Monitors charges and tracks financial performance in CT, MRI, and X-Ray modalities.
Positions and immobilizes patient on examining table.
Administers contrast media orally or intravenously; gathers pertinent information from patient, patient's chart and radiology folder to determine risk factors for IV contrast.
Enters data such as type of scan, slice thickness, scan time and other technical data into computer.
Communicates with patient before and during procedure; monitors safety, comfort and level of sedation.
Views images of organs or tissue on video display screen to ensure quality of pictures; produces radiographs.
Evaluates radiographs, video tape and computer generated information for technical quality.
Calibrates the CT and laser.
Serves as a lead person for ACR Accreditation in CT and MRI.
Maintains CT and MRI QC records.
