About The Position

Research Data Group’s Beacon HCI division provides nationwide healthcare cost-containment solutions focused on accurate, compliant claims. The Level I Resolution Specialist supports healthcare claim overpayment recovery by securing refunds from hospitals and providers and resolving outstanding claims. The role works with providers, facilities, payers, and third-party administrators (TPAs), and is based at the legal address in Salem, Virginia. This is a full-time position for local candidates only, with a listed salary range of $44,000–$46,000.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience in healthcare billing, claims, revenue cycle, collections, appeals, or reimbursement recovery.
• At least 2 years of experience in a call-center environment.
• Exceptional attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Intermediate to advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Outlook, Word, and Teams.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of CMS regulations, UB-04 claim forms, or refund recovery processes.
• Familiarity with payer networks or stop-loss claims.

Responsibilities

• Create and submit healthcare refund requests.
• Contact healthcare facilities to identify billing or refund contacts.
• Send refund requests and follow up consistently by phone, fax, and email.
• Make outbound calls to providers and facilities for status updates and follow-up.
• Accurately document communications and updates in internal systems.
• Maintain and update facility and provider contact information.
• Collaborate with the Resolution Manager on complex or escalated claims.
• Assist with special projects and process improvements.
• Follow HIPAA and company data security standards.
