About The Position
The Resin Technician is responsible for various duties related to material handling, machine operation, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment. This role also includes responsibilities related to food safety, ensuring that all products meet quality and safety standards. The technician will monitor inventory, assist with machine maintenance, and document material movements. A thorough understanding of inventory movement and computer operating systems is necessary. The position requires adherence to safety procedures and contributing to a safe work environment.
Requirements
- Forklift experience required
- Must have a thorough knowledge of the facilities inventory movement for both shipping and inventory control
- Working knowledge of computer operating systems
Nice To Haves
- High School Diploma or GED preferred
- 1-2 years of related experience and/or training preferred
Responsibilities
- Gather, weigh and blend materials.
- Maintain supply of raw materials to machines (raw material, colors, etc.).
- Grind material, label regrind, keep grinding area organized and clean.
- Assists in purging machines and cleaning magnets in the hopper throat.
- Connect vacuum system to supply material to machines.
- Document movement of materials and complete all required paperwork.
- Gather lot control information for Quality Control.
- Help to monitor inventory levels and advise inventory control of low volumes.
- Check equipment (blenders, dye feeders, grinders, etc).
- Unload bulk resin trailers.
- Keep work area clean and maintain proper housekeeping and sanitation.
- Maintains safety in the department.
- Perform other warehousing and related tasks.
- Monitor and verify activities to ensure that all products coming in and out of the facility meet food safety standards in addition to quality standards.
- Comply with all company food safety and quality assurance procedures and document data correctly at all times.
- Ensure all work product contact surfaces are restored to sanitary condition after any job completion.
- Report any product or process failures that could impact food safety of manufactured product to Quality and/or Line/Maintenance Supervision.
