About The Position

Mergon is hiring a Production Resin Handler for the 2nd shift, from 4pm to 12am. The role manages virgin resin, color, and regrind to keep production lines and support activities supplied and running safely, in accordance with company policies. The Resin Handler maintains material systems and machine areas, addresses material issues, and supports waste reduction, changeovers, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

Follow company safety standards when using the fork truck and complete prescribed fork truck checklists.
Adhere to personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements.
Stock production machines with the necessary resin and monitor regrind and color levels.
Remove, record, and disposition waste plastic from machines.
Reduce plastic waste by sorting and salvaging material and suggesting solutions to sources of waste.
Load the waste truck and log waste material when approved.
Remove and clean weeps from machine heads.
Clean machine material-system magnets and filters.
Troubleshoot material issues, notify maintenance of material-system issues, and follow up on material-related issues.
Clean resin, regrind, and color spills and remove waste from machine tops.
Clean spilled material and dust around regrind bins and grinders.
Empty the dust collector and clean spills around it.
Clean vacuum stations and keep the surrounding area dust-free.
Respond to contamination by cleaning the material system according to procedure.
Complete material or color changeovers during mold changes while minimizing changeover time and material loss.
Label resin, regrind, and color correctly when bringing them to or removing them from machines.
Use excess regrind in approved machines.
Contribute to continuous improvement activities.
Assist with equipment movement when a fork truck is required.
Maintain housekeeping and 5S standards by keeping material items organized on machines.
