Our experienced team offers sustainable design strategies, energy analysis, green building certification consulting, sustainability analysis, and upgrades for existing structures, along with education and training. As a Resilience Engineer Intern in our Sustainability & Resilience Practice, you will gain hands-on experience supporting resilience and risk assessment projects for buildings and infrastructure systems. You’ll assist engineers and architects in analyzing climate hazards, assessing building performance, and contributing to performance-based and resilience-focused design, all while learning about climate adaptation and hazard mitigation strategies in a collaborative environment. This is a full-time internship for Summer 2027.

Requirements

  • Current undergraduate or graduate student in resilience-related engineering or architecture.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with CAD software ( e.g. AutoCAD) is a plus.
  • Experience or familiarity with tools such as Bluebeam, ArcGIS, HAZUS, SketchUp, Mathcad, or structural analysis software is a plus.
  • Familiarity with resilience or sustainability certifications (LEED, RELi , WEDG) is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Support multi-hazard risk assessments, climate change impact studies, and resilience evaluations through research, analysis, and documentation.
  • Participate in site surveys, building inspections, and existing conditions assessments, while assisting with AutoCAD drafting and Revit modeling.
  • Analyze architectural, structural, and MEP systems in support of resilience objectives and project recommendations.
  • Prepare reports, technical documentation, and presentation materials, and assist with project coordination, administrative tasks, and construction observation as needed.
