About The Position

Our vision as Chase Oaks Worship is to know God’s transforming presence and to make his presence known. Frist, we strive to lead ourselves well and grow in our own faith. Through this process we live out our purpose with what we say and what we do. It’s every part of our lives, every day. When we get on a stage with an instrument or a band, it’s the culmination and expression of our daily lives lived in worship. At the end of this residency, you’ll be able to perform the essential job responsibilities listed below. This will give you a base of skills required to lead worship at a church. This position is 1 year in length, from August 1 – July 31, working 20 hours/week. Weekly Hours Breakdown: 8 hours – Leading worship 2 hours – Personal Development 4 hours – Skillset Goal Development 2 hours – Unique Development Opportunities 4 hours – Meetings/Administrative Tasks (team meetings, creative meetings, etc.) Unique Development Opportunities: In this residency, you’ll have the opportunity to develop in a specialized skill. Below are some potential areas of development: -Instrument Proficiency -Theology Training -Songwriting -Spiritual formation -Choir Directing -Track Creating -Song Arrangement -Social Media -Recording (in studio) -Student Ministry Worship

Requirements

  • Good vocal ability
  • Ability to lead a band musically
  • Administration skills for Planning Center
  • Good time management
  • High creativity
  • 3+ years serving on a worship team
  • Some qualification in Music and/or Theology
  • Confidently with public speaking and verbal communication to groups via microphone
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively with congregants, volunteers, and other worship team musicians
  • Openness to performing worship music in multiple languages (including Mandarin and Spanish); fluency not required
  • Ability to speak effectively and understandably on the phone.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to common inquiries regarding Chase Oaks ministries.
  • High attention to customer service.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Outlook calendaring, and email.
  • Basic knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experienced with data entry.
  • Familiar with databases.
  • Lifting 5-10 pounds is an occasional but essential requirement.
  • Regularly required to sit, talk, or hear.
  • Frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.
  • May be asked to bend and kneel.
  • Being a Christ-follower—whose work history and lifestyle shows a consistency to adhering to the scriptural principles of the Bible—and agreeing with the Purpose, Strategy, and DNA statements of Chase Oaks.

Responsibilities

  • Lead worship during most of the weekends throughout the year.
  • Be immersed in our worship culture through interaction with our teams.
  • Weekly/bi-weekly one on one’s with Worship Pastor.
  • First 90 days will move through our onboarding worship curriculum.
  • From this curriculum, we will establish 90-day goals to challenge you to grow you in specific areas (See skillset goals and unique development opportunities).
