About The Position
Pathway Family Services in Topeka, KS is seeking a passionate and dedicated Unit Leader for their Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility (PRTF). This full-time role involves ensuring daily schedules, treatment plans, and care standards are met with excellence, supporting youth in a therapeutic residential setting. The ideal candidate thrives in structured environments where teamwork, compassion, and accountability drive meaningful change.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a residential program
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Valid driver’s license and ability to meet agency driving standards
- Completion of Safe Crisis Management training (or willingness to complete upon hire)
Nice To Haves
- Associate’s degree in human services preferred
- Medical care center experience a plus
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and direct group activities to ensure compliance with treatment schedules
- Monitor and report supply and curriculum needs for psychosocial programming
- Ensure staff are equipped with materials for therapeutic groups and activities
- Collaborate with medical, therapeutic, and educational departments for holistic care
- Document staff interactions, incidents, and resident progress
- Support direct care staff during emergencies or crises
- Attend staff meetings, supervision sessions, and coaching
- Transport residents or conduct agency business using personal or agency vehicles
- Promote cultural sensitivity, teamwork, and adherence to accreditation standards
