As a Residential Support Specialist, you’ll be a vital part of that mission—providing compassionate, person-centered care in a supportive home environment. The home for this position is Pittsburgh, PA 15106 (Carnegie).
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver’s license and ability to drive an agency vehicle
- Ability to pass Act 33/34/73 clearances
- Pre-employment drug screening, physical exam, and TB test
- Completion of Department of Public Welfare Medication Training within 90 days of hire
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement individualized care plans that reflect each resident’s unique needs, goals, and preferences.
- Help residents with essential daily tasks such as personal hygiene, meal preparation, medication administration, and household responsibilities—encouraging independence every step of the way.
- Collaborate with the care team to implement positive behavioral strategies, creating a calm and respectful living environment.
- Organize and participate in recreational outings, social events, and community activities to foster inclusion and connection.
- Work closely with healthcare professionals, therapists, and fellow support staff to ensure a holistic, coordinated approach to care. Share observations and updates to support each resident’s progress.
