About The Position

The Real Estate Assessments Office of Prince William County government is searching for a Residential Assistant Real Estate Assessments Manager in Woodbridge, Virginia. This position supervises 2-4 appraisal staff who perform professional work in the appraisal of real property (residential and vacant land) for assessment purposes. This is a supervisory position that is responsible for analyzing property values, training new residential appraisers, and supervising subordinate staff members and department projects.

Requirements

High school diploma or G.E.D.
7 years of combined assessment and supervisory experience
at least 2 years of supervisory experience
at least 3 years of experience appraising property for ad valorem tax purposes.
Must have a valid driver's license.
The Selected Candidate is required to complete a Statement of Economic Interests pursuant to Va. Code §§ 2.2-3114, 2.2-3115, and 2.2-3116.

Responsibilities

Supervise staff, including day-to-day operations as well as prioritizing, assigning and scheduling work and conducting performance evaluations.
Train all new residential appraisers.
Conducts complex appraisals of real property and appraisal reviews.
Provides customer assistance to citizens, other departments or other parties regarding appraisal processes.
Make hiring, termination, and disciplinary recommendations.
