About The Position

Mental Health Connecticut (MHC), a statewide not-for-profit provider agency, is hiring a Residential Specialist I for its Transitional/Respite program in the Torrington area. The role coordinates individuals’ needs with available services and documents and delivers services to people in recovery in accordance with their Individual Recovery Plans. The position is full-time with a 30-hour work week, Friday through Monday, 12:00 am to 8:00 am. The hourly rate is $21.00. The role may require remaining onsite or reporting beyond scheduled hours to provide essential coverage.

Requirements

• GED or high school diploma.
• Ability to coordinate individuals’ needs with available services and document and deliver services in accordance with Individual Recovery Plans.

Responsibilities

• Engage with people in recovery to support their participation in programs and activities.
• Document activities, communications, and encounters with individuals in recovery according to service contract and MHC requirements.
• Orient individuals to the program available to them.
• Maintain activity and progress reports.
• Teach and assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADL) skills to maintain a clean and orderly environment.
• Monitor the safety of individuals in recovery in their residences by supervising sites and ensuring facilities remain safe and healthy.
• Provide emergent program-site coverage when necessary, including remaining onsite or reporting beyond scheduled hours when required.
