About The Position

The Residential Specialist implements individual's service plans by providing direct psychiatric rehabilitation services and skills training to individuals recovering from mental illness. The Residential Specialist works with residents in their homes by providing the support to assist them in developing the skills necessary for independence and success. The role may require using one's own vehicle to travel between locations, while company vehicles are used to transport residents.

Requirements

A high school diploma is required
Ability to work as a part of a team is necessary
A good driving record is also essential
Ability to respect individual choice in the recovery process
A commitment to recovery through the psychiatric rehabilitation process is required
Good verbal communication skills
Understanding to respect the abilities and limitations of consumers
Successful completion of a background check
Verification with professional references

Experience in human service delivery is preferred

Responsibilities

Provide in-person residential program coverage by working in the residential units facilitating rehabilitation services and skills training
Perform medication monitoring services
Assist consumers with implementing Individual Service Plans to reach goals
Facilitate group and individual activities
Provide transportation using company vehicles to assist consumers in using community resources
Utilize Electronic Health Record to record services and documentation for billing
Document activities and services in log book to promote communication between shifts
Assist consumers with independent living skills
Communicate with supervisors and other employees to ensure continuum of service
Engage in crisis management
Utilize systems for internal communication, including work email and time and attendance systems to clock in and out of every shift worked and verify time on the last day worked of pay cycle
Perform other duties as requested by supervisors
