About The Position

ION Solar is a rapidly expanding, full-service residential solar company with a nationwide presence, committed to making solar energy accessible and affordable to homeowners. The Residential Solar Installer assembles, installs, and maintains residential solar photovoltaic (PV) systems. The work is performed outdoors, primarily on rooftops, and may also take place in attics and crawl spaces. Installers work as part of a team alongside technicians and electricians.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required.
Extensive knowledge of PV equipment and installation.
Extensive knowledge of electrical wiring and equipment.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to read building plans and equipment manuals.
Ability to use hand and power tools to install PV panels.
Ability to use ION technology, such as smartphones, Paycom, Field Pro, and SalesForce.
Ability to work at great heights.
Ability to lift at least 50 pounds at a time.

Nice To Haves

Vocational or technical school training.
Experience in solar, roofing, or construction.

Responsibilities

Assemble and install solar panels on roofs.
Configure PV systems based on site conditions and customer needs and expectations, and connect panels to the power grid.
Maintain high standards of quality assurance and quality control, with an emphasis on crew safety.
Complete projects within established policies and procedures.
Ensure equipment is weather sealed.
Perform routine maintenance on PV systems.
Assist the Electrician with connecting PV panels to the electrical system.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
