About The Position

As a Solar Installer on the Residential team, you will play a critical role in our solar operations. Your responsibilities will include installing and commissioning energy systems, resolving equipment issues, ensuring adherence to safety regulations and codes, and maintaining high-quality workmanship. This versatile role is instrumental in enhancing processes and supporting the overall efficiency and effectiveness of our solar installations.

Requirements

  • At least 6 months of hands-on experience in solar installation or a related field such as construction, roofing, or electrical work
  • Capability to climb ladders, work on sloped roofs in all weather conditions, and stand for extended periods
  • Proficiency in safely handling power and hand tools, as well as materials such as ladders, inverters, solar panels, panel boards, batteries, lumber, and roofing materials
  • Experience and comfort working in attics and confined spaces
  • Ability to lift 75 pounds repeatedly
  • Must be proficient in the use of smartphones and tablets, utilizing them effectively for communication, accessing job-related apps and software, documenting work progress, and staying connected with team members and supervisors as required
  • Proven track record of reliable attendance
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Dedication to maintaining the highest safety standards on every job
  • Position requires passing a drug screening and background check
  • A valid driver’s license is required for all positions at Lumina Solar

Responsibilities

  • Load and unload materials at the warehouse, ensuring you have all necessary materials for each job
  • Load and unload materials at the job site, ensuring all necessary materials are present and organized, while maintaining a clean and orderly work environment
  • Install and commission energy systems on roofs, including array layout and mounting hardware, tailored to site conditions and customers’ needs and expectations
  • Adhere to building standards and codes when installing panels and support structures
  • Address and resolve equipment issues and failures onsite efficiently
  • Perform routine maintenance on energy systems to ensure optimal performance
  • Utilize your knowledge to enhance processes and proactively review the quality of workmanship onsite
  • Work closely with team members and communicate job status to management effectively
  • Ensure all equipment is properly weather-sealed to maintain system integrity
  • Keep company vehicles well-maintained, fully stocked, and properly serviced
  • Follow all safety regulations and policies to ensure a safe working environment
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to support overall project success
