About The Position

Clarvida is seeking a Residential Skills Trainer to support adults with severe and persistent mental illness who live in a residential group home in Columbus, Georgia. The role involves providing residents with daily guidance and structure to build life skills that promote independence, stability, and successful community living. Areas of support include housekeeping, meal preparation, budgeting, hygiene, safety, medication management, and use of public transportation. The trainer monitors residents’ behaviors, needs, and progress toward individual goals; documents services and observations; and provides crisis intervention as needed. The position also includes transporting residents to medical appointments, grocery trips, and community activities. The trainer collaborates with residential staff and supervisors and receives ongoing supervision.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Professional verbal and written communication skills.
Knowledge of and sensitivity to culturally diverse populations.
Valid Georgia Driver’s License with a clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
Clean criminal background check, with no conviction or credible evidence of abuse, neglect, or exploitation of children or adults.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s degree in a human services field such as Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or a related field.

Responsibilities
