About The Position

The Residential Shift Supervisor will be responsible for the operation of their assigned residential shift. This role involves providing supervisory leadership to ensure a healthy, therapeutic, and safe environment for staff, residents, and their children. The supervisor acts as a primary point of contact and communication liaison in the absence of the Program Director, ensuring smooth residential team operations and effective collaboration. They are responsible for carrying out the instructions of the Program Manager and monitoring program vehicles. The role also includes enforcing program rules, authorizing passes, assisting in recreational activities, and responding to emergencies according to Chrysalis House policy. Additionally, the supervisor collects client urines, completes documentation, participates in staff meetings, and conducts education and guidance activities. Due to the need for 24-hour facility supervision, this position may require working holidays, inclement weather, overnights, or weekends.

Requirements

  • Med tech Certification - preferred
  • High school diploma, GED
  • Human Services, Behavioral Science or related experience with (3-5) years of experience
  • CPR, First AID
  • Clean driving record and valid driver's license.
  • Knowledgeable and demonstrate competency in current computer skill.
  • Ability to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, talk and hear.
  • Ability to walk, stand, and sit.
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Responsibilities

  • Provide supervisory leadership to the Residential Coach by ensuring a healthy, therapeutic and safe environment for staff, residents and their children in their care.
  • Remains aware of Residential schedule, ensuring 24-hr. coverage as required.
  • Provides training and orientation services to new Residential staff.
  • Serves as a primary point of contact and communication liaison in the absence of the Program Director, to ensure smooth residential team operations and effective collaboration.
  • Assumes ongoing responsibility of the residential Coaches during assigned shift.
  • Carries out the instructions of the Program Manager.
  • Monitors assigned program vehicles for gas, maintenance, and repair.
  • Maintains full gas tank and monitors cleaning of vehicles.
  • Coordinates handling of donated items (greeting donors, completing donation log sheets, etc.)
  • Keeps lobby area clear of donated items during hours on duty.
  • Enforces program rules and performs disciplinary tasks in accordance with residents’ manual and Chrysalis House policy and procedures.
  • Authorizes passes in accordance with current treatment levels.
  • Assists in planning and conducting recreational activities.
  • Reports any emergency to the Program Director and/or Clinical Director immediately.
  • Follows the applicable Chrysalis House Emergency Procedure in the event of medical, police, fire, or disaster emergency.
  • Collects client urines as required and in accordance with Chrysalis House policy.
  • Completes all necessary documentation and arranges for appropriate lab pick-up.
  • Participates in staff meetings and staffing sessions as directed.
  • Conducts education and guidance activities as assigned in conjunction with residential and clinical staff.
  • May be scheduled to work holidays, and/or provide additional coverage during inclement weather, overnights, or weekends.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Set a good example for all staff.
  • Insure that all policy and procedures are being followed consistently by all staff.
  • Communication liaison between clients and management.
