About The Position

AWAKE Mental Health Direct Care Professionals (AWAKE Residential Services Technician) provide nighttime direct service in the residential group care or transitional living setting. They offer personal support and supportive counseling to residents, acting as part of a clinical team. This role utilizes daily living tasks as instrumental treatment components while helping to create a sense of permanency and a home-like environment. Responsibilities include identifying needs, supporting physical and mental health wellbeing, medication administration, providing watchful oversight, and milieu management. The role also involves maintaining a clean and organized facility and managing staff office charts and documentation. These positions attend weekly or bi-weekly program staff meetings and other necessary meetings. Work is performed, reviewed, and evaluated under the supervision of the Program Director or Program Coordinator.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must become certified as Mental Health Rehabilitation Technician 1 (MHRT1) within 1 year of employment; then maintain required trainings to uphold continuous MHRT1 status.
  • Strong communication and conflict resolution skills required.
  • Ability to work in a team environment required.
  • Must be able to successfully pass a criminal background, child protective service check & sex offender check.
  • Must not be on the state or federal suspension and disbarment list.
  • If MHRT is required for position you must pass CNA registry check.
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment physical and TB screen.
  • Must be able to exert moderate physical effort with occasional standing, walking, reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching, driving, typing and frequently lift and carry material weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • A good driving record is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate or bachelor’s Degree or equivalent training in mental health preferred.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft office preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Attends weekly or bi-weekly program staff meetings and participates in other meetings as necessary.
