About The Position

We deliver competitively priced propane, heating oil, diesel, and gasoline across upstate New York, serving residential, commercial, agricultural, municipal, and wholesale customers. Buell Fuel and Center State Propane is seeking a Propane/Fuel/Equipment Sales Representative to drive revenue by prospecting, closing contracts and managing accounts for residential energy solutions. The role blends technical product knowledge with relationship-building to evaluate client needs, delivery services, and fuel systems, offering competitive base-plus-commission packages. The ideal candidate will be responsible for generating new business, building strong customer relationships, maintaining existing and new customers and achieving sales goals within a designated residential market. This position requires excellent communication skills, self-motivation, and a customer-focused approach.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Proficiency with computers, mobile devices, and company software.

Responsibilities

  • Generate new residential sales through prospecting, referrals, networking, and lead follow-up.
  • Assess customer needs and recommend appropriate products and services.
  • Prepare and present pricing proposals and sales agreements.
  • Maintain accurate customer records and sales activities in the company software.
  • Follow up with customers throughout the sales process to ensure satisfaction.
  • Meet or exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales goals.
  • Stay current on company products, services, promotions, and industry trends.
  • Monitor local competitors and regional market dynamics to optimize pricing and identify new sales opportunities.
  • Participate in sales meetings, and community events as needed.
  • Communicates and work directly with sales director.
  • Knowledge of industries equipment.
