About The Position

We are seeking a highly adaptable and self-motivated professional to join our team at the King County Secure Community Transition Facility located in Seattle’s SODO business district. The Secure Community Transition Facility is a structured and closely supervised community residential program where residents continue treatment in a community setting. Our program provides treatment to individuals who are civilly committed, helping them address their history of sexual offenses and prepare for a safe and successful transition back into the community. We are looking for people who are interested in making a positive contribution to the lives of others. As a Residential Rehabilitation Counselor, you will work collaboratively with a team of professionals to implement strategies and interventions that support the needs of our residents. Residential Rehabilitation Counselors are responsible for the daily support and monitoring of residents, escorting/chaperoning services in the community, health engagement opportunities, and fostering a safe and secure environment. Opportunities performed on-site at this work location at least three days a week may be eligible for an additional 5% premium pay in addition to the advertised salary. Pierce County employees are eligible to receive an Orca Card for transportation needs.

Requirements

High school graduation or GED, and one year of experience providing direct care in a residential or in-patient behavioral health setting.
College-level coursework will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.
Equivalent education/experience will also be considered.

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of CPR and first responder level first aid.
Ability to effectively collaborate with staff and residents from diverse backgrounds.
Ability to demonstrate an acute awareness of safety protocols and utilize strong judgment skills to assess environments and situations, making sound decisions within the scope of the job.
Demonstrates strong critical thinking and effective communication skills, with the ability to observe and articulate behavioral insights both verbally and in writing, while producing comprehensive, concise, and detail-oriented documentation.

Responsibilities

Provide day-to-day supervision and monitoring of residents.
Create opportunities for social and therapeutic engagement in individual and group settings.
Assist and encourage residents in completing essential life skills.
Escort residents to and from community outings/appointments.
Maintain a safe and secure living environment.
Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
Develop accurate and detailed written documentation and reports.
