About The Position

The Residential Program Supervisor (Evenings) provides leadership and oversight for residential programming during afternoon and evening hours within our Child & Family Treatment Center (CFTC), a 24-hour residential program serving youth ages 8–18 referred by DCFS and ISBE. This position is responsible for ensuring a safe, structured, and supportive environment for youth while supervising direct care staff and responding to critical incidents and emergencies. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is a confident leader, remains calm in crisis situations, and is passionate about supporting youth on their path toward healing and growth.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and at least one year of related experience in human services, social services, behavioral health, education, or a related field; OR High School Diploma/GED and five years of related human services experience.
  • Demonstrated leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Valid Illinois driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to successfully complete required background checks and drug screening.
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled.
  • Requires frequent movement throughout the facility and the ability to kneel and safely return to a standing position without assistance as part of crisis intervention responsibilities.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in residential care, child welfare, behavioral health, youth development, or a related setting.
  • Experience with crisis intervention and trauma-informed care practices.
  • Previous staff supervision or team leadership experience.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, coach, and support Youth Treatment Specialists to ensure high-quality care and adherence to program expectations.
  • Maintain safety, staffing coverage, schedules, and daily residential operations during evening shifts.
  • Respond to behavioral incidents and crisis situations using trauma-informed de-escalation techniques and intervention strategies.
  • Complete required documentation, incident reports, and shift communications accurately and timely.
  • Coordinate youth transportation, medical appointments, emergency responses, and other operational needs.
  • Collaborate with clinical, educational, and residential teams to support treatment goals and positive youth outcomes.
