About The Position

Walnut Street Center, Inc is a nonprofit, human services agency providing support to Adults with Intellectual Disabilities. We are currently seeking a Residential Nurse to join our team. This is a part-time, flexible schedule position, Monday through Friday, with no nights, weekends, or holidays. The RN will provide oversight and support to residential program managers and staff to ensure the health maintenance of residents. This mainly consists of case management, MAP certification program instruction & oversight, and training supports in a group home setting. The ideal candidate will have experience working with the adult DD/ID population. Salary is negotiable based on experience.

Requirements

  • MA Nursing License (RN)
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Ability to travel between sites
  • Covid-19 Vaccine Card
  • Ability to pass background checks
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to effectively teach adults medical skills

Nice To Haves

  • At least 1 year in Community Health setting preferred
  • Experience in DDS funded programs preferred
  • Experience with MAP training program preferred
  • Experience in Medical Specialties such as Geriatrics, Home Health, Psychiatry, Medical-Surgical
  • Prior experience working with the adult DD/ID population preferred

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all healthcare services provided by the program.
  • Assist in the communication of information from management to employees.
  • Maintain documentation in each individual’s file of any medical or health related recommendations made at periodic reviews.
  • Administer and oversee the accurate documentation of administration of medications. Occasional administration of medication if VNA is not available.
  • Train staff in relevant medical and health care procedures and provide consultation to staff in regard to medical issues.
  • Ensures the accurate and timely completion and submission of paperwork including but not limited to quarterly reports, medical forms and assessments.
  • Serves as a liaison between the agency and medical professionals as needed.
  • Advises the Program Director and staff of any medical problems that may hinder an individual’s progress or that may be affected by activities at the program.
  • Ensures the confidentiality of individual’s medical records by complying with all HIPAA regulations.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.
