Residential Program Counselor
About The Position
Marrakech is seeking a Residential Program Counselor (DSP) to support individuals with developmental and physical disabilities in a residential group home setting. The role involves helping individuals live safe, fulfilling lives while building trusting relationships that encourage independence and personal choice. The position offers full-time and part-time opportunities, paid training, and career growth. Marrakech has been supporting individuals across Connecticut for over 50 years, focusing on person-centered support, advocacy, dignity, respect, and meaningful connection to enhance quality of life and promote independence.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid Connecticut Driver’s License
- Ability to obtain DDS Medication Certification, CPR, and First Aid
Nice To Haves
- Experience supporting individuals with disabilities is helpful
Responsibilities
- Assisting with daily living skills such as personal care, meals, and routines
- Supporting medical needs and appointments
- Following individualized support and behavior plans
- Encouraging community involvement and social engagement
- Completing routine overnight safety checks (for overnight staff)
- Working collaboratively as part of a compassionate, supportive team
