About The Position

Dungarvin is a mission-driven organization providing person-centered support services since 1976, dedicated to helping individuals live as independently as possible. The company supports people in 15 states who are in need of assistance, and/or living with intellectual or developmental disabilities, or other complex medical needs. The Residential Program Coordinator (RPC) / Lead DSP will work directly with these individuals, providing hands-on care for daily activities such as personal care, meal preparation, transportation, housekeeping, and laundry, while fostering independence. The role also involves creating and maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming environment to support individuals in achieving their personal goals. Key responsibilities include mentoring and guiding individuals through supervision and positive reinforcement, assisting with staff scheduling, ensuring consistency in programming and individual care, and facilitating communication among staff and support team members. Additionally, the coordinator will manage household operations, coordinating services related to individual finances, activities, program services, family involvement, educational/vocational programs, health care/nutrition, and overall household management.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of experience working with individuals with disabilities and/or one-year of lead staff experience or a two-year degree in a related field.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Passion for Helping Others: Experience with mental health conditions (e.g., bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, depression, anxiety).
  • Physical stamina to stay on your feet, walk, stand, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Basic computer skills for tracking progress and documentation.
  • Good communication skills (reading, writing, and communication) to document care, follow support plans, and collaborate with both internal and external team members.

  • Prior experience in Residential Services is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide Hands-On Care: Assist individuals with daily activities like personal care, meal prep, transportation, housekeeping, and laundry, all while fostering independence.
  • Create a Safe & Welcoming Environment: Maintain a clean, safe space that ensures comfort and support while helping individuals reach their personal goals.
  • Mentor & Guide: Provide supervision, positive reinforcement, and guidance to help individuals achieve their aspirations.
  • Assist with staff scheduling, maintain consistency in programming, individual care, and communication with staff and support team members.
  • Household Management: Coordinate a variety of services including individual finances, activities, program services, family involvement, educational/vocational programs, health care/nutrition and household management.
