About The Position

The Opportunity Alliance is seeking a Residential Services Medication Technician to join the team at the Bridge adult residential program. The Residential Services Medication Technician is a technical position overseeing the administration of medications for residents of the program. This is an evening position that contributes to the accomplishment of the Agency mission through the provision of direct service. This position manages all aspects of the medication administration program within the program.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • At least 2 years of experience in mental health required.
  • Must become certified as Mental Health Rehabilitation Technician 1 (MHRT1) within 1 year of employment; then maintain required trainings to uphold continuous MHRT1 status.
  • Must be able to able to successfully pass a criminal background, child protective service check & sex offender check.
  • Must not be on the state or federal suspension and disbarment list.
  • If MHRT is required for position you must pass CNA registry check
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment physical and TB screen.
  • Must be able to exert moderate physical effort with occasional standing, walking, reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching, typing and frequently lift and carry small children or material weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • Normal office conditions such as sitting, with occasional standing, walking, reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching, typing and lifting up to 10 pounds.
  • Driving may be necessary to attend meetings and trainings and for the occasional need to meet with clients offsite and within the program service area. This may include transportation of clients or driving to agency location to complete work.
  • A good driving record is required.
  • This role is required by the State of Maine to have proof of immunization or documented immunity against rubeola (measles), mumps, rubella (German measles), varicella (chicken pox), hepatitis B (optional), and influenza.
  • Medical exemption may be accommodated with a written statement from a licensed medical professional.

Responsibilities

  • Implement all medication rules and regulations.
  • Provide oversight on all documentation required within the medication program and maintain the medication room to meet standards.
  • Attends weekly program staff meetings and participates in other meetings as necessary.
  • Work is performed, reviewed, and evaluated under the supervision of the Program Director.
