About The Position

St. Augustine Youth Services (SAYS) is dedicated to providing a safe, nurturing, and therapeutic environment for children and adolescents who have experienced trauma, abuse, neglect, and other life challenges. Our team is committed to helping youth build resilience, develop healthy relationships, and achieve lasting success through compassionate, evidence-based care. The Residential Master Level Clinician serves as a primary therapist for children residing in our therapeutic residential program. This position provides individual, group, and family therapy services while collaborating with multidisciplinary team members, caregivers, community partners, and referral sources to ensure comprehensive treatment and support for each child. The ideal candidate is passionate about working with youth, skilled in crisis intervention, and committed to providing trauma-informed, strengths-based care.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, Psychology, or a related behavioral health field.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of clinical experience.
  • Ability to effectively manage crisis situations and provide therapeutic interventions.
  • Strong clinical assessment, treatment planning, and documentation skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary treatment team.
  • Valid Florida driver's license and acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to pass all required background screenings.
  • Ability to effectively manage and respond to crisis situations.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary treatment team.
  • Ability to develop, implement, and update individualized treatment plans.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to clearly present cases and communicate clinical information to treatment team members, guardians, community partners, and other professionals.
  • Knowledge of case management principles, treatment planning, and behavioral health documentation requirements.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with all applicable state regulations, agency policies, and professional ethical standards.
  • Valid Florida driver's license and ability to transport clients as required.
  • Ability to successfully complete all required background screenings and clearances.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with children, adolescents, and families preferred.
  • Florida licensure or licensure eligibility preferred (LCSW, LMHC, LMFT, or Registered Intern).

  • Experience in residential treatment, child welfare, foster care, or group home settings.
  • Knowledge of Florida Administrative Codes 65E-9 and 65E-10.
  • Experience administering CFARS, outcome measures, and other clinical assessments.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as Primary Therapist for up to ten (10) children in residential care.
  • Provide individual, group, and family therapy services in accordance with each child's treatment plan.
  • Complete comprehensive assessments, treatment plans, treatment plan updates, progress reports, and other required clinical documentation.
  • Perform case management functions including assessment, planning, linking, advocacy, monitoring, and discharge planning.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders regarding treatment progress.
  • Coordinate psychiatric, psychological, and other clinical services as needed.
  • Administer required evaluations, outcome measures, and CFARS assessments.
  • Communicate with legal guardians, parents, guardians ad litem, case managers, and other involved parties regarding treatment progress and significant events.
  • Coordinate and facilitate family therapy sessions, including evening and weekend availability as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with agency policies, state regulations, and licensing requirements.
  • Provide leadership and support to residential staff to promote effective implementation of treatment plans.
  • Participate in the agency's on-call rotation schedule.
