About The Position

At In Flight, Inc., we empower people with intellectual and developmental disabilities to reach for hopes and dreams and support a meaningful quality of life. In Flight Inc., is a nonprofit that provides support services within a home environment and the community for adults with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD). The Residential Manager is responsible for the overall health, safety and well-being of the residential group home residents, as well as the supervision and direction of the IRA assigned. A motivated leader that will provide administrative leadership, guidance and supervision while overseeing program development, implementation and documentation that promotes person-centered practices.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Acceptable driver’s license based on insurance company regulations.
  • Pass NYS and OPWDD background clearances.
  • Attend In Flight orientation located in Red Hook.

Nice To Haves

  • AAS degree and 2 years supervisory in the DD field
  • HS/GED with 3 years’ supervisory experience preferably with IDD population.
  • Ability to manage others and good communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and writing skills.
  • Previous experience supporting individuals with disabilities is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supports the weekly scheduling of residential staff to ensure client ratios are at required standards to support the supervision of residents and meaningful programming for all shifts.
  • Provides leadership, supervision, and training to in-house Team Leads, DSPs and other professional staff, including "on the floor" supervision of staff to assure that staff is assigned specific duties.
  • Leads and motivates employees while maintaining positive morale to ensure optimum care of the individuals.
  • Responsible for all house and resident monies and oversight of house and property maintenance.
  • Reviews and verifies billing documentation of each program every week.
  • Coordinates and oversees financial operations of programs, including reviewing and approving payroll, reviewing finance reports, monitoring spending and budgets.
  • Oversees Medicaid billing documentation to include utilization of THERAP.
  • Monitors all houses overseen to ensure data documentation is being completed daily.
  • Oversees the conducting and recording of monthly fire drills and reports any potentially dangerous conditions to the Residential Director.
  • Works closely with Human Resources Department and is responsible for the training, ongoing coaching, supervision, and evaluations of Residential Staff.
  • Works with the Training coordinator to ensure training compliance and identifies training needs.
  • Conducts and documents staff meetings monthly.
  • Acts as the lead person for crisis situations.
  • Ensures proper documentation & notifications to parents, guardians, and care coordinators.
  • Provides oversight of incident management to ensure the timely and accurate submission of all required documentation and notifications.
  • Supports the oversight and management of program funds and expenditures.
  • Ensures accurate records and oversight of submission of receipts and reconciliation is made daily.
  • Monitors all expense logs.
  • Reviews reports and resident monthly progress notes to ensure accuracy and submitted as due.
  • Assesses the overall atmosphere of program, observes staff and resident interactions, conducts required unannounced supervisory checks, resolves staff and residents’ issues and provides training corrections as needed.
  • Coordinates with other supervisory staff on facility checks, unannounced visits, fire drills, food service, clothing room, purchasing, personal care and household supplies.
  • Coordinates supervisory coverage and staffing with other Managers if needed.
