About The Position

Catholic Charities of Long Island is seeking a dedicated and talented Residential Manager with a passion for helping developmentally disabled adults achieve their goals and live a full life. The current open position is located in our Babylon, LI group home. This role is responsible for ensuring quality resident care, developing and implementing Individualized Service Plans, managing staff, overseeing household maintenance, and adhering to budgets.

Requirements

  • BA/BS plus 2 years’ or HSD/GED plus 3-5 years’ management or staff supervisory experience in a group home for developmentally disabled adults
  • Experience caring for medically frail seniors, including those with mobility issues
  • Clean, valid NYS Driver’s License
  • Ability to accommodate a flexible work schedule according to resident care needs
  • Ability to assist in 2-person lift of consumer
  • Ability to transfer person weighing as much as 250 pounds in and out of bed to a wheelchair, from a wheelchair to toilet or mat, or from a mat to a wheelchair
  • Ability to propel consumer in wheelchair safely
  • Capable of stooping and crouching to lift
  • Ability to protect self, in a non-aggressive manner, during physical or emotional outburst of a resident

Responsibilities

  • Ensure quality of resident care is provided, 24 hrs./day, 7 days/week
  • Develop and implement Individualized Service Plans
  • Manage staff scheduling, training, performance management and regulatory compliance
  • Overseeing optimal household maintenance and adherence to budgets
