About The Position

The Manager oversees and participates in the development and delivery of services designed to further the abilities of adults with developmental disabilities to live, learn and work in a more independent and inclusive manner. The Manager is responsible for direct support, administrative duties and management of staff in the designated program. Hours: Full Time, 40 hours per week, 20 hours per week of administrative time and 20 hours per week of direct care. Must be available mornings, evenings, weekends and overnights.

Requirements

  • A criminal and Motor Vehicle record which meets company standards.
  • A valid Colorado Driver’s license.
  • Verified legal status to work in the United States.
  • Ability to use computers fluently (Internet, Word Processing).
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
  • Basic money management and budgeting skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and adept at performing multiple tasks at once.
  • Frequent walking, sitting, and use of hands; occasional standing, bending, driving, and lifting up to 25 lbs.
  • Requires full vision, hearing, and communication abilities, regular reading, writing, reasoning, and computer use.
  • May involve exposure to verbal or physical aggression; staff receive training to prevent and manage such situations safely.
  • Requires concentrated visual and auditory attention; requires frequent standing and walking; lifting and transferring individuals, carrying, reaching, pushing, and pulling; ability to work in environments that could include changes in temperature/humidity, dust, odors, noise, various allergens (both chemical and food related) etc.; ability to work with individuals with disabilities, a variety of illnesses, and medical conditions; working indoors, outdoors, and in vehicles; works around and with others, and alone; may have to walk on slippery and /or uneven walking surfaces; expected to assist individuals receiving services with entering and exiting the vehicle, toileting, cleaning, bathing, cooking and other basic life skills.
  • There are inherent risks in supporting people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. May be subject to name calling or other verbal insults in addition to physical aggression including, but not limited to, hitting, kicking, spitting, slapping, punching, throwing objects, etc. MVDS provides general and specific training to best prepare staff to prevent, and/or manage these occurrences.

Nice To Haves

  • College Degree Preferred.
  • Successful completion of Certified Nursing Assistant/Aide training is preferred.
  • 1 year of general management experience preferred.
  • Previous experience in health care, human services, or nursing home setting preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all shifts are covered, staff schedules are efficient, leave requests are addressed, and vacancies are reported.
  • Participate in interviews and supervise staff during all work hours.
  • Train new hires, provide ongoing mentorship, conduct performance evaluations, lead staff meetings, and handle performance concerns with professionalism and timeliness.
  • Complete assessments, adhere to budgets, minimize overtime, approve timekeeping, contribute to financial planning, and submit required reports and billing on time.
  • Oversee daily operations including menu planning, inventory management, health tracking, and medication audits.
  • Respond to internal/external audits and maintain compliance.
  • Respect and advocate for individual rights, encourage informed choices, promote personal growth, and ensure access to community resources.
  • Support medical needs by attending appointments, administering medications accurately, maintaining medical supplies, and communicating health changes to the Medical Office.
  • Maintain a clean, safe environment, conduct emergency drills, ensure safe transportation, and report or resolve safety concerns promptly.
  • Develop and follow each individual's care plan, coordinate with the Interdisciplinary Team, and provide necessary physical or personal assistance.
  • Maintain timely and accurate documentation of services, attendance, and medical records.
  • Respond to communication through designated channels promptly.
