About The Position

The Residential Electrician Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing residential electrical maintenance services, safety inspections, and minor repairs while building long-term customer relationships. This role focuses on preventive maintenance, system optimization, and identifying electrical concerns early—leading customers to informed and confident decisions regarding repairs, upgrades, and ongoing maintenance solutions.

Requirements

  • Valid electrical license or certification with working knowledge of local electrical codes.
  • Strong understanding of residential electrical systems, including panels, breakers, wiring, grounding, and GFCI/AFCI protection.
  • Proven ability to perform electrical inspections, preventive maintenance, and light repairs.
  • Commitment to ongoing education and technical development.
  • Clean and safe driving record.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • High integrity with strong customer service and relationship-building abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Perform residential electrical maintenance visits, safety inspections, and system evaluations.
  • Identify potential electrical issues and recommend proactive repairs or upgrades.
  • Complete minor electrical repairs and adjustments during maintenance calls as appropriate.
  • Establish strong customer rapport and clearly explain findings, recommendations, and options.
  • Promote and enroll customers in maintenance plans and applicable service agreements.
  • Educate customers on electrical safety, system performance, and energy-efficient solutions.
  • Adhere to service criteria and contribute to department revenue and retention goals.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor to drive referrals and repeat business.
  • Coordinate effectively with dispatch, customer service, and management teams.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized job site and a well-stocked service vehicle.
  • Accurately complete invoices, inspection forms, option sheets, timecards, and customer feedback.
  • Participate in training sessions, safety meetings, and company events.
  • Support and mentor apprentices or junior technicians as assigned.
