About The Position

ACC Community Connections is seeking a part-time Residential Integration Specialist (RIS) to assist residents in building independence with a primary focus on community integration. The ideal candidate will motivate, support, and encourage psycho-social development in residents who may struggle with mental health, substance use/abuse, criminal backgrounds, and behavioral functioning. Our mission is to foster an environment where all recognize and achieve their potential.

Requirements

  • High school degree or equivalent.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must be able to pass a Caregiver Background Check as well as a Criminal Background Check.
  • Ability to complete 40 hours of pre-placement training upon hire.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record as determined by ACC’s insurance carrier.
  • Must have an insured vehicle.

Nice To Haves

  • At least one year of full-time experience (or the equivalent of approximately 2,000 hours of part time experience) working in a formal program that focused on Mental Health services, Substance Use/Abuse services, and/or Crisis or Behavioral Regulation is preferred.
  • Skills and knowledge related to persons with mental illness including ability to conduct assessments, create treatment plans, and/or provide ongoing monitoring to ensure that outcome-based measurements are met.
  • Knowledge of and support for principles of Trauma Informed Care, Recovery, and Client Centered Care.
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
  • Ability to accurately assess a multitude of client needs and direct staff and/or other residents appropriately in the treatment course.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients, administrative superiors, colleagues, the general public, and community partners in a manner that supports collaboration.
  • Ability to collect, organize, and utilize data for program improvement purposes.

Responsibilities

  • Provide daily guidance, mentoring, and coaching of residents and their activities.
  • Assist residents in their daily routine, including coaching on preparing for the day and week, scheduling appointments, developing personal hygiene routines, and preparing meals.
  • Understand and operationalize each resident’s Independent Living Plan (ILP), potentially participating in its development or review.
  • Be aware of residents' habits, interests, and physical, mental, and social needs, reporting any changes to administration or colleagues.
  • Model healthy relationships to help residents develop safe and appropriate relationships and provide support during their healing process.
  • Provide crisis intervention by identifying, assessing, and intervening with residents in crisis.
  • Offer support that is respectful of and responsive to individual resident preferences, needs, and values.
  • Utilize a strength-based approach to collaborate with residents on challenges, identify strengths, and discover solutions.
  • Participate regularly in resident programming and make suggestions for programming based on identified needs and interests.
  • Comply with all company quality standards and timeframes for documentation and communication.
  • Demonstrate implementation of program policies, procedures, and quality assurance activities.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to achieve resident goals and outcomes, communicating client strengths and challenges.
  • Transport residents or assist in arranging transport for residents to community appointments.
  • Complete all required training needs within the prescribed time limit.
  • Assist in household chores, ensuring the cleanliness and safety of the facility.
  • Perform all duties and tasks as assigned by administration.
