The Residential Instructor is responsible for creating a nurturing and positive learning environment for clients in Adult Services. This role involves developing strategies to help clients cope with social, emotional, and physical challenges of daily living, and facilitating their independent performance in these areas. The position requires active engagement both inside and outside the home, including the ability to lift and transfer significant weight and utilize protective hold techniques when necessary for safety. The instructor will implement Individual Plans of Care, monitor client progress, administer medication (once certified), assist with medical appointments, and ensure clients adhere to dietary plans. Maintaining the cleanliness and safety of the residence and vehicle, conducting oneself professionally, and participating in required training are also key aspects of the role. Additionally, the instructor will manage agency petty cash and client funds, ensure client privacy and confidentiality, and facilitate community outings while adhering to safety protocols and state laws when using the agency vehicle. A strong understanding of agency policies and procedures, and fostering positive community relationships are expected.
