The Residential Instructor position involves actively working with youth in a residential setting, both inside and outside the home. The role requires creating a positive learning environment, developing strategies to help clients cope with stressful situations, and facilitating independent living skills. Instructors will demonstrate sensitivity and skills in dealing with clients' reactions to past traumatic and emotional events, providing compassion, understanding, limit setting, and a stable living environment. A key part of the role is implementing Treatment Plans (DCF) or Individual Plans of Care (DDS), recording data on teaching strategies and behavior systems, and reporting client progress. Daily monitoring of medical, physical, and behavioral changes is essential, with prompt reporting to supervisors. When medically certified, administering medication and documenting its administration is required. Following behavioral and dietary plans, assisting with meal preparation and supply purchasing, and maintaining the cleanliness of the home and agency vehicle are also core responsibilities. Maintaining client privacy and confidentiality, conducting oneself professionally, supervising family visitations, participating in mandatory training, and taking clients on community outings are also part of the job. Other work-related duties as assigned will be performed.
