About The Position

The Lead Installer is responsible for the installation of HVAC equipment into residential customer’s homes, including but not limited to furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, air handlers, and other related components. This role involves ensuring all installations meet manufacturer specifications, company policies, and local/state codes. The Lead Installer will troubleshoot, install, and ensure the proper start-up and operation of equipment to guarantee customer satisfaction. They will also perform duct system installations, refrigerant line installations (including brazing and soldering), secure gas line connections, and prepare openings for HVAC components. Ensuring thermostat functionality and verifying all necessary materials and equipment are prepared for each job are key aspects of this role. The position requires adherence to safety regulations and company driving policies, as well as providing training and guidance to Install Helpers. Participation in required meetings and trainings is also expected.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years prior HVAC installation experience.
  • High school diploma and/or any equivalent of education and experience to meet the essential functions of the job.
  • Valid driver’s license and remain insurable under our company insurance policy.
  • Strong time management skills.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of professionalism and customer service standards in stressful situations.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and written.
  • Self-starter with excellent problem-solving, analytical skills and mechanical aptitude.

Responsibilities

  • Install HVAC equipment into residential customer homes per manufacturer specifications, company policy, local and state required codes.
  • Effectively perform the functions of equipment troubleshooting, installation, start-up, operation and other duties as required to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Perform installation of flex and sheet metal duct systems in residential buildings to AMI Quality Standards, required code and job specifications.
  • Perform installation of refrigerant lines to air conditioning units, including brazing and soldering.
  • Ensure gas line connections and fittings to are properly secured.
  • Perform metal and wood hole cutting, framing and nailing outlets as required by job specifications.
  • Ensure functionality of thermostats to control HVAC system is operational.
  • Verify all materials and equipment required for each scheduled job and load into company vehicle.
  • Perform all duties in accordance with appropriate safety trainings and regulations as defined by company policy and procedure.
  • Ensure that company vehicle is maintained and operated in accordance to company driving policy.
  • Provide knowledge, training and guidance to Install Helpers to assist in the development of skills necessary to perform HVAC installation job requirements.
  • Participate and attend all required employee meetings and trainings.
