About The Position

Apprenticeship for the HVAC Residential Install department. This role involves working with various types of HVAC equipment and distribution systems, including packaged units, split systems, central station air handlers, exhaust fans, and ductwork. The apprentice will learn to install and maintain these systems to company standards, ensuring quality workmanship and efficient processes. The position requires the ability to work in diverse environmental conditions and adhere to strict safety policies.

Requirements

Reasonably physically fit and capable of picking up a 60 lb. tool, piece of equipment or piece of material and moving it about
Ability to load and unload materials for projects and move these materials into place
Ability to carry loads in tight and difficult situations and on uneven terrain
Ability to climb and work off ladders and aerial lifts
Ability to assist in the setting of equipment with the aid of a crane, boom truck, outdoor forklift and other types of construction vehicles
Certified in the operation of an outdoor forklift
Familiar with the proper handling of suspended loads
Familiar with the safe operation and capable of using hammer type drills and similar tools

Responsibilities

Installation of packaged units (ground and rooftop)
Installation of split system equipment
Installation of central station air handlers
Installation of exhaust fans (roof mounted, wall mounted, and suspended)
Installation of various types of air distribution systems
Installation of flexible, spiral, and single wall pipe duct systems
Installation of fire and smoke or combination dampers
Installation of kitchen hoods and associated ductwork
Installation of ceiling and wall grilles and diffusers
Perform job-related tasks as requested by the Installation Mechanic
Maintain a quality of workmanship and installation standards as set by the company
Work in outdoor weather and temperature extremes designated by company policy
Work in a safe manner and abide by the company’s safety policies
Anticipate the upcoming steps of the installation for an efficient process
Maintain work area and keep clean and free of debris
