About The Position

The Estimating Project Manager leads and manages the estimating process for residential and commercial construction projects, ensuring accurate cost estimates, timely proposal submissions, and effective coordination with internal departments, subcontractors, vendors, and customers while supporting company profitability and operational success.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of construction estimating principles, project management practices, and construction processes.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, specifications, and construction documents.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • High level of organization, attention to detail, and accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills with subcontractors, vendors, and customers.
  • Proficiency in estimating software, Microsoft Office Suite, and construction management systems.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across teams.
  • Strong understanding of budgeting, cost control, and risk assessment.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment screenings such as background and motor vehicle record checks.
  • English speaking, reading, and writing preferred, and required where necessary to perform job duties.
  • Spanish speaking preferred.
  • Maintain professionalism and a positive, respectful demeanor with customers, coworkers, and business partners.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without current or future need for employer sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of 3–5 years of estimating, project management, or construction industry experience preferred.
  • Residential, commercial, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, or construction industry experience preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or related field preferred.
  • Relevant industry certifications or licenses preferred, and required where necessary to perform job duties.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the estimating process for assigned projects, ensuring accurate and timely completion of bids and proposals.
  • Review project plans, specifications, contracts, and related documents to determine scope, labor, material, and equipment requirements.
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates, budgets, and bid proposals for residential and commercial construction projects.
  • Coordinate with operations, purchasing, project management, field teams, subcontractors, and vendors to gather pricing and project information.
  • Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and vendor proposals to ensure competitiveness and compliance with project requirements.
  • Identify project risks, scope gaps, and value engineering opportunities during the estimating process.
  • Maintain estimating databases, historical cost records, and bid documentation.
  • Participate in pre-bid meetings, project walkthroughs, and customer discussions as required.
  • Assist with project turnover meetings and transition awarded projects to operations and project management teams.
  • Ensure all estimates and proposals comply with company standards, customer requirements, and applicable codes and regulations.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Monitor market pricing, labor trends, and material availability to support accurate forecasting and estimating.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to estimating procedures, systems, and processes.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
