About The Position

The Residential Driver is responsible for safely operating a collection truck, providing prompt and courteous service to customers, and ensuring the proper collection and disposal of residential waste and recyclables in accordance with company policies and procedures. This role involves operating a residential collection truck in a safe and efficient manner, collecting waste and recyclables from residential customers on assigned routes, and performing pre- and post-trip inspections of the vehicle. The driver will communicate with dispatch and route supervisors regarding issues or delays, maintain the cleanliness and safety of the vehicle, and follow all safety guidelines and DOT regulations. Providing excellent customer service and resolving customer concerns when necessary is also a key part of the role. The driver is responsible for the safe and timely collection of residential waste and recyclables and is expected to follow assigned routes and schedules with minimal supervision.

Requirements

• Knowledge of DOT regulations and safety procedures.
• Ability to operate heavy-duty trucks and related equipment.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to read and interpret route sheets and maps.
• Basic familiarity with mobile devices such as tablets or route tracking apps.
• Ability to enter service notes and complete route information electronically.
• Comfort using handheld scanners, GPS applications, and other digital tools as required by operations.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid CDL Class B license with air brake endorsement.
• Minimum of 1 year of commercial driving experience preferred.
