About The Position

America's Floor Source (AFS) is seeking a full-time sales professional for their AFS Design Studio in Carmel, Indiana. This role requires a blend of sales ability and design sensibility, focusing on sophisticated clients and premium products in an elevated, inspiring environment. The advisor will guide clients through flooring and material selections, manage the sales process from consultation to close, and contribute to showroom presentation. A background in high-end retail, interior design sales, or luxury home products is preferred, along with essential flooring knowledge and an understanding of how space should feel.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of flooring or related high-end residential sales experience — mandatory
  • Demonstrated ability to work with elevated clientele and premium product lines
  • Design sensibility and an eye for color, texture, pattern, and spatial composition
  • Knowledge of measuring and estimating
  • Ability to present and demonstrate our full product portfolio (carpet, hardwood, tile, resilient, stone, and more) and guide clients to confident decisions
  • Professional presence and exceptional interpersonal skills — this role is highly visible
  • First-rate verbal and written communication skills
  • Exceptional organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail
  • Well-versed in Windows PC applications with the ability to learn new systems
  • Solid math skills
  • Ability to remain focused and productive in an elevated, client-facing environment

Nice To Haves

  • Background in interior design, design sales, or luxury home furnishings retail
  • Experience working with interior designers and architects
  • Familiarity with design software or product specification tools
  • Experience in showroom environments with a focus on client experience and visual merchandising

Responsibilities

  • Consult with homeowners and interior designers to understand their vision and translate it into the right flooring and material selections.
  • Manage the full sales process from initial consultation through project close.
  • Contribute to the ongoing presentation and upkeep of the showroom.
