About The Position

We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Residential Estimator to join our growing pre-construction team. Reporting to the Manager, Purchasing & Estimating, this role will be responsible for residential cost estimating, purchasing support, vendor coordination, and process improvement initiatives. The successful candidate will contribute to accurate project costing, material procurement, and continuous improvement efforts while working closely with Construction, Design, Sales, and Finance teams.

Requirements

  • Degree/Diploma in Estimating, Architectural Technology, Engineering, or related discipline.
  • 3 - 5 years of relevant experience; residential homebuilding experience is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of residential construction methods and cost estimating practices.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office, Builder Lynx, and Stack CT (or equivalent).
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proven ability to read and interpret residential construction drawings.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of Ontario Building Code and low-rise residential construction is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Manage lot-specific cost estimating and purchase order preparation.
  • Perform detailed quantity take-offs with a focus on accuracy and material optimization.
  • Review customer selections, architectural plans, and site-specific conditions to ensure cost coverage and constructability.
  • Provide pricing for customer upgrades, plan modifications and custom options.
  • Support vendor tendering, pricing analysis, and purchasing activities.
  • Maintain accurate cost databases, vendor records, and supporting documentation.
  • Assist in maintaining estimating and purchasing procedures, guidelines and filing systems.
