About The Position

Security Title, a division of Fidelity National Title, LLC is seeking an experienced Escrow Closer to join their dynamic team. This role is perfect for someone who is eager to achieve success by providing superior service and quality. As an Escrow Closer, you would be responsible for overseeing the escrow process for real estate transactions, which includes preparing, executing, and delivering escrow documents. Building strong client relationships is crucial, as you'll need to determine escrow requirements and ensure all title issues are resolved for smooth transactions. Your responsibilities will also include reviewing and approving escrow documents, managing closings, and addressing any client questions or concerns. You will be balancing escrow funds and coordinating with the funding team to ensure precise disbursement of funds. You will need to collaborate with various stakeholders such as lenders, buyers, sellers, and real estate agents to ensure everything runs seamlessly and on time. This a full-time on-site position at our Lindbergh Blvd. location. Ability to attend to conferences and events, which may require travel in the St. Louis/St. Charles County areas.

Requirements

  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Missouri Department of Insurance license or ability to meet the requirements for Missouri Department of Insurance licensing is required.
  • Notary Public is required or ability to meet the requirements.
  • Must have basic computer skills with proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Must meet ongoing Continuing Education requirements.
  • Closer must have excellent customer service skills with both internal and external customers.

  • Positive, clear communication skills and strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a willingness to adapt quickly.
  • Prior knowledge of SoftPro software, a plus.
  • Prior knowledge and experience with real estate transaction closings and title industry is helpful but not required.
  • Applicants with portable book of business will be given preference for position.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares Closing Disclosure & Settlement statements with all accurate prorations/adjustments including but not limited to real estate taxes, sewer, water, trash, subdivision or HOA fees, payoff of any liens as evidenced by title search.
  • Comply with all terms of the real estate contract and/or amendments.
  • Determine escrow requirements by reviewing and clarifying buyer, seller, and lender instructions.
  • Obtain clear title by ordering title reports, resolving title defects, satisfying existing liens and encumbrances against property or principals.
  • Complete the closing transaction documents by assembling documents, reviewing papers with parties, explaining provision and procedures, checking documents for completeness & accuracy.
  • Satisfy all funding requirements prior to depositing and disbursing the funds.
  • Comply with regulatory requirements by adhering and enforcing requirements.
  • Other job responsibilities as assigned.
