About The Position
Sierra Air Conditioning, Heating & Plumbing is seeking an experienced Residential Electrical Service Technician skilled in troubleshooting, customer communication, and delivering exceptional service. This role involves diagnosing electrical issues, explaining solutions clearly to homeowners, and guiding them in making informed decisions. The position includes a paid training and orientation period covering Sierra's service process, customer experience standards, systems, and expectations. Upon successful completion of training and demonstration of competencies, technicians will move to a performance-based compensation structure with opportunities for increased earnings.
Requirements
- Residential electrical service experience strongly preferred.
- Strong electrical troubleshooting and diagnostic ability.
- Knowledge of residential electrical systems and applicable electrical codes.
- Ability to safely troubleshoot and repair circuits, panels, breakers, outlets, switches, lighting, GFCI/AFCI devices and related residential electrical components.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Comfortable presenting repair and replacement options to homeowners.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
- Ability to complete applicable pre-employment requirements.
- Ability to safely perform the physical requirements of residential electrical service work.
- Must possess any individual electrical certification or journeyman credential required by the applicable local authority having jurisdiction for the work they will perform in the Las Vegas/Clark County market, or meet the applicable requirements to work under Sierra's licensed electrical contractor and qualified supervision.
- Candidates should provide copies of applicable electrical licenses, certifications, apprenticeship credentials, or journeyman documentation during the hiring process.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with service upgrades, dedicated circuits, EV chargers, surge protection, generators or similar residential electrical work is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and improving residential electrical systems.
- Delivering an exceptional homeowner experience.
- Combining technical expertise with strong communication and customer service skills.
- Diagnosing residential electrical issues accurately and efficiently.
- Performing electrical repairs and replacements safely and professionally.
- Conducting electrical system and safety inspections.
- Identifying electrical hazards, code concerns, and opportunities for system improvements.
- Presenting homeowners with clear repair and replacement options.
- Explaining recommendations in a way customers can easily understand.
- Completing work according to applicable electrical codes, manufacturer requirements, permitting requirements, and Sierra standards.
- Maintaining accurate job documentation, photos, notes, and customer records.
- Keeping service vehicle, tools, and equipment organized.
- Protecting customers' homes and maintaining a clean work environment.
- Participating in ongoing technical, safety, customer service, and performance training.
