About The Position

We are seeking a skilled Residential Electrician to join our team at Palmetto Residential Electric. This full-time position involves completing new construction residential installs and warranty work. The role requires planning installations to minimize waste, ensure future maintenance access, and adhere to electrical codes. You will be responsible for preparing sketches, splicing wires, connecting equipment, testing circuits, and repairing faulty systems. We offer competitive pay and a comprehensive benefits package.

Requirements

  • 2-3 years of experience with residential work.
  • Ability to work as a team member.
  • Organization and time management skills.
  • Punctual, reliable, and self-motivated.
  • Must be physically able to perform maintenance tasks to the highest caliber, which include but are not limited to the ability to climb ladders, work in confined spaces, and lift objects weighing up to 75 pounds
  • Must have the ability to pass a urine drug test and background check.
  • Must be able to provide a clean driving record.

  • Occasionally travel to work in other sites within Palmetto Residential Electric.
  • Possibly required to work overtime.
  • Bilingual a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Completes new construction residential installs and warranty work
  • Plans new or modified installations to minimize waste of materials, provide access for future maintenance, and avoid unsightly, hazardous, and unreliable wiring, consistent with specifications and local electrical codes.
  • Prepares sketches showing location of wiring and equipment, or follows diagrams or blueprints, ensuring that concealed wiring is installed before completion of future walls, ceilings, and flooring.
  • Splices wires by stripping insulation from terminal leads, twisting or soldering wires together, and applying tape or terminal caps.
  • Connects wiring to lighting fixtures and power equipment.
  • Connects power cables to equipment, such as electric range or motor, and installs grounding leads.
  • Tests continuity of circuit to ensure electrical compatibility and safety of components with testing instruments such as ohmmeter, battery and buzzer, and oscilloscope.
  • Observes functioning of installed equipment or system to detect hazards and need for adjustments, relocation, or replacement.
  • Repairs faulty equipment or systems.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
