About The Position

The Service/ Warranty Technician is responsible for completing residential electrical work on homes before and after homeowners move in. Ensuring all electrical is properly functioning in the new home.

Requirements

  • Electrical trade knowledge for all aspects of residential electrical.
  • Ability to read prints and scale to ensure placement of fixtures, receptacles, switches, etc.
  • Must have their own standard residential electrical tools.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Must have specialty tool use knowledge – i.e. Jack Hammer, Generator, Multimeter, Toner.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Must be able to read paperwork and fill out necessary information.
  • Previous experience in all phases of residential electrical.
  • Must have electrical safety knowledge (Lock Out Tag Out).
  • Prolonged periods of standing, kneeling, bending, crouching, crawling, and climbing ladders.
  • Must be physically capable of pulling wires and cables through conduits.
  • Must be able to work in hot and confined spaces (attic work).
  • Must be able to use hand and power tools for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and maintain a clean driving record.
  • Must be able to sit and drive for extended periods of time to reach service locations.
  • Ability to safely operate company van in various weather and road conditions.
  • Must have National Electric Code (NEC) knowledge.

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Completing residential electrical work on homes before and after homeowners move in.
  • Ensuring all electrical is properly functioning in the new home.
  • Completing warranty calls, ensuring timeliness and troubleshooting/repairing electrical issues.
  • Ensuring all homes are left clean of debris after warranty calls.
  • Handling dissatisfied homeowners and deescalating situations.
  • Accurately completing “Hot Checks” prior to final inspection and homeowner closing.
  • Energizing and deenergizing homes.
  • Confirming all equipment is properly installed and functional.
  • Troubleshooting faulty equipment, circuits, and breakers.
  • Communicating with the service manager and supervisor regarding any issues that arise during “Hot Checks”.
  • Ensuring the home is left in “move in” condition after hot checks.
  • Completing Punch Lists, which are quality checklists from the builder or homeowner of any issues identified during the walk through.
  • Troubleshooting and reading blueprints/floor plans.
  • Communicating with the manager regarding any issues that arise during punch list completion.
