About The Position

The Electrical Installer Lead is responsible for leading the installation of residential and light commercial electrical systems while ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company standards and applicable electrical codes. This position serves as the lead installer on assigned jobs, providing technical expertise, coordinating with customers and team members, and mentoring apprentices and junior installers. The Electrical Installer Lead is expected to maintain high-quality workmanship, deliver exceptional customer service, and support the successful completion of installation projects from start to finish.

Requirements

Minimum of five (5) years of electrical installation experience, preferably in residential and light commercial environments.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Valid driver's license required and must remain insurable under the company's insurance policy.
Ability to successfully pass all required background checks, drug screenings, and licensing requirements as applicable.
Strong leadership and team development skills
Excellent communication and customer service abilities
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, and construction documents
Extensive knowledge of residential and light commercial electrical installation practices
Thorough understanding of electrical codes and safety requirements
Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, testing equipment, and diagnostic devices
Strong organizational and time management skills
Mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
Ability to maintain professionalism in fast-paced or stressful situations
Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 75 pounds.
Ability to work in attics, crawl spaces, rooftops, and other confined or elevated work areas.
Ability to stand, walk, kneel, crouch, climb ladders, and perform physical labor for extended periods.
Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Ability to safely operate company vehicles, tools, and equipment.
Minimum three (3) years of previous electrical experience
Completion of a formal apprenticeship.
High school diploma and/or any equivalent of education and experience to meet the essential functions of the job.
Must have a valid driver’s license and remain insurable under our company insurance policy.
Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and written.
Self-starter with excellent problem-solving, analytical skills and mechanical aptitude.
Ability to read blueprints, extensive knowledge of electrical systems and wiring, the ability to use hand tools and power tools, proficiency in the use of test meters and diagnostic equipment.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience leading installation crews or supervising apprentices preferred.
Completion of a formal electrical apprenticeship program preferred.
Journeyman Electrician license preferred where applicable.

Responsibilities

Lead the installation of electrical systems, equipment, and components in residential and light commercial settings.
Install electrical wiring, panels, breakers, generators, surge protection systems, EV chargers, lighting fixtures, switches, outlets, and other electrical equipment.
Ensure installations comply with all local, state, and national electrical codes.
Review project specifications, plans, and blueprints to ensure accurate installation and execution.
Coordinate material needs and verify that required equipment and supplies are available for each project.
Oversee job site activities to ensure projects are completed on time and meet company quality standards.
Perform job site assessments and communicate installation requirements to customers and team members.
Identify and resolve installation challenges while maintaining project timelines.
Conduct final inspections of completed work to ensure safety, functionality, and customer satisfaction.
Promote and enforce all company safety policies and procedures.
Ensure all work is performed in accordance with OSHA regulations and applicable electrical codes.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Utilize proper personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure team compliance.
Communicate professionally with customers throughout the installation process.
Explain system operations, equipment features, and maintenance recommendations upon project completion.
Address customer questions and concerns in a courteous and knowledgeable manner.
Represent the company with professionalism and integrity at all times.
Lead, train, and mentor apprentices and junior installers.
Provide on-the-job coaching to improve technical skills, safety awareness, and productivity.
Assist leadership with evaluating employee performance and development opportunities.
Foster a positive, team-oriented work environment.
Complete required job documentation, installation reports, permits, material usage records, and other project-related paperwork accurately and timely.
Document project progress and communicate updates to supervisors and dispatch personnel.
Maintain company vehicles, tools, and equipment in good working condition.
Carry out additional responsibilities as directed by leadership.
