About The Position

UCP Heartland is seeking compassionate and committed Residential DSP's (Direct Care Professional) for a part-time position in Oakville. This role offers a positive, team-driven work environment with a starting pay of $21.00/hour. As a DSP, you will provide essential support to individuals with disabilities, assisting with daily tasks, personal hygiene, and facilitating engaging activities. You will also follow medical orders, administer medications, and assist with ADL's, lifting, transferring, and adaptive transportation. A key aspect of this role is empowering clients by providing them with choices for their daily activities, entertainment, and community outings. Requirements

  • High School diploma or its equivalent (GED).
  • Valid Driver's license
  • Clean Driving Record and successfully completes and maintains assigned drivers training
  • A MINIMUM OF ONE WEEKEND SHIFT PER WEEKEND
  • Experience supporting individuals with disabilities or in a customer service field
  • Ability to take direction and work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to consistently work in a professional, cooperative manner with all Agency clients and personnel.
  • Ability to interact with client's family often
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Computer Proficiency
  • Reliable transportation
  • This position requires 5-7 days of mandatory training at our corporate office Monday through Friday 8:45 AM - 4:15 PM.

Responsibilities

  • Provide physical assistance with daily tasks, assist with personal hygiene and facilitate fun activities.
  • Follow medical orders and administer medications.
  • Assist with ADL's, Lift and Transfer (includes ceiling lifts, repositioning in wheelchair, etc), Adaptive Transportation.
  • Provide choices to the clients for their daily activities to provide entertainment and community outings.
