About The Position

In this key role, you will operate heavy collection equipment, perform daily safety inspections, and keep your community running cleanly and smoothly.

Requirements

• Valid Commercial Driver’s License (DZ or above) with a clean Driver’s Abstract and CVOR.
• Minimum 1 year of commercial driving experience (or completion of an accredited truck driving school program).
• Demonstrated ability to safely operate heavy commercial collection vehicles and hydraulic packer systems.
• Ability to successfully satisfy all company standards for safety-sensitive operational roles.
• Strong attendance record and flexibility to support early morning start schedules and operational overtime when needed.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate an Automated Side-Load (ASL) or Rear Pack collection truck along assigned residential routes.
• Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections daily and complete required trip logs and paperwork.
• Collect residential waste and recycling materials in strict accordance with route schedules and corporate safety protocols.
• Skillfully operate hydraulic and compaction systems using proper techniques to prevent equipment damage.
• Promptly report any mechanical write-ups, route hazards, or safety incidents to management.
• Maintain high route productivity, customer service standards, and vehicle cleanliness.
• Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, municipal bylaws, company safety policies, and required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) standards.
• Work closely with Helpers and Terminal Supervisors to support smooth, efficient daily operations.
• Perform other operational duties as assigned by leadership.
