Position Description Primarily responsible for supervising Residential Counselors, coordinating work assignments, ensuring safety of the clients, and providing direct childcare, Residential Dorm Supervisors BA are responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of their assigned dormitory. Residential Dorm Supervisors are responsible for collaborating with their Mileu Director to review treatment plans and corresponding interventions, coordinate and track student specific behavior plans, and ensure fidelity of implementation among direct care staff. Residential Dorm Supervisors create and foster an environment that promotes physically and emotionally healthy lifestyles of the clients in their assigned dormitory. This may include, but is not limited to, exercise and nutrition training, community integration, psycho-educational therapeutic counseling, human rights advocacy, medical advocacy, medication administration, social and life-skills training, as well as educational and life planning. In collaboration with the Mileu Director, Residential Dorm Supervisors will plan and implement dorm specific trainings and interventions with direct care staff. They also collaborate with the Mileu Director to identify training needs and objectives, conducting thorough learning needs assessments. How You'll Be Making a Difference Manage the daily operations of the designated dormitory. Collaborate with Mileu Director to implement interventions to support individual treatment plans. Provide feedback to clinicians to enhance treatment plan goals, objectives, and interventions. Create and foster an environment that promotes physically and emotionally healthy lifestyles of clients. Provide clients with social and life-skills training and life planning to foster growth and achievement. Plan and deliver training sessions to the direct care staff in assigned dormitory. Monitor effectiveness of trainings and adjust as necessary through training evaluations. Foster a culture of continuous learning and development for staff and clients. Through formal trainings and supervisions, equip direct care staff with necessary skills and knowledge to be effective in their roles. Promote a culture of collaboration and congeniality. Collaborate with the Milieu Director to identify and execute professional development activities for direct care staff in their assigned dorm. Participate in supporting the development of behavior interventions, collecting data, and facilitating client progress. Provide training, advocacy, needs assessment, and treatment to clients with the goal of stepping down to a less restrictive environment. Supervise and coordinate activities of daily living for students, including hygiene, clothing, chores, and other activities. Assist children with the transition from each scheduled activity. Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary clinical team to lead to the development and implementation of individualized comprehensive treatment plans that provide for individual counseling, group therapy, nutrition, medical, recreational, and social programming. Work closely with Milieu/Program Director to ensure appropriate staffing coverage. Hire, train, supervise, performance manage and evaluate direct care staff. Mediate staff issues and employee conflicts. Host team meetings for staff and provide training and weekly supervision. Plan and schedule therapeutic groups designed to enhance children’s growth and development and creatively plan social activities and special events. Coordinate and manage all activities of daily shift including, but not limited to, medical appointments, recreational activities, transportation to work and home visits, homework completion, behavior support system and chore and room completion. Provide, model and supervise group and individual behavior support and intervention in keeping with TCI principles including appropriate physical restraints as necessary. Ensure completion of all necessary shift paperwork including communication log, daily log, incident reporting, mentor sheets and behavior support monitoring. Provide work coverage of shifts as needed. Manage medical and emergency situations. Provide crisis intervention, which may include the use of restraints. Oversee the timely submission of records and documentation and ensure that staff are aware of activities that may have emerged on prior shift. Manage client belongings account sheets. Attend weekly meetings.
