About The Position

At IdeaTek, we’re looking for a Door-to-Door Sales Representative to help bring internet freedom to communities across Kansas. Whether you’re introducing our fiber service to a brand-new area (greenfield) or re-engaging homes that have heard of us before (brownfield), your mission is the same: build trust, spark interest, and guide residents toward better internet. We offer a competitive base salary with commission based on sales conversions. This position is also eligible for a $1,500 Sign-On Bonus paid after 60 days of successful employment. No traditional sales background required — we train competitive, coachable, energetic people.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver’s license with no restrictions
  • Willingness to travel locally and work 4+ days/week in the field afternoons/evenings
  • Able to walk several miles/day and work in varying weather
  • Strong independence, time management, and follow-through

Nice To Haves

  • 1+ years of door-to-door or face-to-face sales experience
  • Background in telecom, internet, or other service-based sales
  • Track record of meeting performance goals in outbound sales
  • Skilled at managing rejection and staying motivated
  • CRM experience or comfort using mobile tracking tools
  • Natural connector—comfortable sparking conversations with anyone
  • Resilient and positive—even when the day gets tough
  • Strategic and creative—knows how to try a new angle when needed
  • Gritty, goal-driven, and accountable to results
  • Coachable, curious, and excited to grow with a fast-moving team

Responsibilities

  • Own your territory: Walk neighborhoods to introduce IdeaTek to new or existing areas
  • Build trust: Be the first—or second—impression, explaining service options clearly
  • Close sales: Guide customers through sign-up, installation, and service activation
  • Follow up: Use calls, texts, and in-person visits to move leads through the funnel
  • Represent the brand: Maintain professionalism, energy, and integrity at every step
  • Track your success: Keep detailed notes, manage time well, and hit performance goals
  • Participate in events: Support community promotions to build awareness and leads
